Engaging with philosophical content can be overwhelming and often difficult to digest. There are a few steps that can be taken to help mitigate this:
  1. Take your time!
  2. You’re not going to understand everything the first time. Take your time by reading small chunks and make notes on what you have been reading about.
  3. Start with a topic you want to read about
  4. Researching a topic you’re most curious about is a great approach. Wanting to find answers to particular questions helps to narrow what to read about.
  5. Start with introductory texts
  6. The primary texts can be difficult to read, especially without context. Introductory and beginner guides are a great way to ease into the topic.
  7. Question everything
  8. Be sure to question propositions over and over again. Do not take any assumptions for granted!
  9. Discuss
